Updates to Rebound AntiScam Browser Extension for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers

We shipped some updates this week to Rebound AntiScam for Chrome (our browser extension), which works on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers like Brave.
If you haven’t tried it out yet, you should. It provides always-on protection against scams by notifying you of inbound scams in your browser, and it’s free!

You can now pause Rebound or turn it off for specific sites
These controls will feel familiar if you’ve used an ad blocker like uBlock Origin:
Pause scanning for 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, or until you resume. A live countdown shows in the pop-up with a Resume button so you can flip it back on at any time.
Disable on this site. A per-site toggle in the pop-up turns autoscanning off for that domain only. It stays off across browser restarts and Chrome updates until you turn it back on.
Scan on demand. “Scan Current Page” works even when Rebound is paused or disabled for the site, useful for a one-off check without re-enabling everything.
Clear “off” state on the toolbar icon so you always know whether Rebound is actively protecting the page.
Smarter detection, fewer false positives
We’ve taught Rebound to stop flagging sites that aren’t actually dangerous:
New or unfamiliar websites. A site you’ve never heard of is no longer treated as suspicious by default. Rebound now looks at what the page is doing, not just whether the domain is obscure.
Personal documents and notes. Pages in Google Docs, Google Keep, OneDrive, Notion, and similar tools no longer get flagged just because they contain unusual text.
Email detail pages. Long, randomized URLs in Gmail (inbox, drafts, search results) are now correctly recognized as your own email, not as suspicious redirects.
Corporate portals and SSO logins. Pages like Shareworks, Vanguard secure messages, banking portals, and other “looks weird but is legitimate” enterprise sites are no longer mistaken for phishing.
